     Workshops, Seminars, and Training:

An EI goal is to bring experts for consultation and symposium in related areas, to conduct off-campus seminars and workshops, to visit funding sources and potential collaborators, and to send EI faculty and staff to relevant training events. Training includes Storm water Modeling for PC-SWMM, Illicit Discharges, Brownsfields All Appropriate Inquiries, and general professional development. Collaborative efforts for EI staff to train others are also being identified to conduct with Safe State. The outcome of these events is to establish an institute composed of academicians and professionals who are highly regarded experts in their fields who can study and inform the public, government, and industry of major technical, social, and economic issues related to safe management of the environment, and enable faculty to form broader coalitions when needed, to bring additional faculty together when warranted for large inter-disciplinary projects, to foster better communication, especially concerning research opportunities, and to enhance the reputation of the University concerning environmental research and education.
